Plan Creation
Overview
This subsection is the step-by-step procedure for building a Plan (Master or Supplemental) in the Aria UI product catalog, as distinct from Rate Schedules, Plan Groups, or Other Plan Concepts under the parent Plans section. Use it for "how do I set up a new plan" questions, where the answer is a specific screen in the plan creation wizard.
Plan Creation Summary
The core wizard proceeds through eight ordered screens:
- Create a Plan (basic plan details);
- Define Plan Relationships (link a Master Plan to child Supplemental Plans or vice versa, set mandatory or default status, set minimum and maximum purchasable units, and assign plan groups or plan exclusions);
- Billing and Invoicing (choose whether the plan bills on a recurring basis, set proration invoice timing, assign statement, notification, credit note, credit memo, and rebill templates, select a dunning process, configure cancellation fees and minimum charges, and attach surcharges);
- Define Plan Services (attach existing services or create new ones, covering activation, recurring, recurring-arrears, usage-based, order-based, cancellation, and minimum-fee service types);
- Add Rates to a Plan (set currency, rate schedule name, availability dates, future rate changes, recurring and usage billing intervals, and per-service rate tiers);
- Add an Inventory Item with NSO installment terms (attach one-time items, such as phones or set-top boxes, with installment billing);
- Add Trials and Rollovers (configure free periods, discounted interim periods, and automatic rollover to a paid or different plan); and
- Review and Confirm.
Beyond the wizard, this subsection covers Configure Plan Services, which sets per-service-type billing behavior such as pricing rule (standard, volume discount, or flat-rate per tier), tax-inclusive rates, fulfillment-based billing, and usage-specific options like high-water marks and usage-tier multipliers.
