A coupon provides a credit on a customer’s invoice as a flat amount or percentage-based amount. You can configure coupons to apply to accounts, master plan instance stacks, or individual plan instances. You can apply coupons at any time during the account’s active lifecycle.

Getting Here: Click Marketing > Coupons
Note: As a best practice, choose the Type of Discounting (step 9) before specifying other coupon parameters. The Type of Discounting affects the available values of the Plan Instance Level dropdown.
- Click New.
The Create New Coupon screen displays

- If you are creating a new coupon, enter your own coupon code in the Coupon Code field, or click Generate to have Aria automatically generate a coupon code for you.
Note: If you are editing an existing coupon, the coupon code cannot be changed.
- In the Description field, enter details about the coupon.
Note: This description will not be displayed to your customers.
- In the Coupon Message field, enter a message that you wish to display to your customers after a coupon has been applied to their account.
- From the Coupon Application dropdown, select the appropriate level to which the coupon should be applied.

Available options include:- Account: The coupon is applied at the account level.
- Plan Instance: The coupon is applied at the Plan Instance level.
- Account or Plan Instance: The coupon is capable of being applied at the Account level or the Plan Instance level.
- If you choose Plan Instance or Account or Plan Instance in the Coupon Application dropdown, and you choose Discount Rules or Discount Bundles for Type of Discounting (step 9 listed below), you can select either:
- Master Plan Instance Stack: Coupon applies to the Master Plan and all associated Supplemental Plans.
- Individual Plan Instances: Coupon applies to a specific plan instance.
Note: Individual Plan Instances will not be available if the chosen Type of Discounting is Credit Templates.
- Select a Start Date from the calendar to specify the date that the coupon will be available for application.
Note: If you leave the Start Date field blank, the coupon will be available immediately for application. The start date cannot be in the past.
- From the Will coupon have usage limits? dropdown, select one of the following options:
- No: Specifies that the coupon will never expire and that there is no limit placed on the number of times that it can be applied across all of your accounts.
- Yes: Specifies that the coupon will expire after a particular date and/or that there is a limit to the number of times that it can be applied across all of your accounts. If you select Yes, the End Date and No. of Uses fields display, requiring further input.
Notes:
- If you leave the End Date field blank, the coupon will never expire.
- If you leave the Number of uses field blank, there is no limit to the number of times a coupon can be used in your Aria instance.
- From the Type of Discounting dropdown, select the type of discount that the coupon should be based on. The second tab at the top of the page will change and offer more options depending on which Type of Discounting is selected. Available options include:
- Credit Templates: Selecting this option displays the Templates tab. A credit template must be defined before saving the coupon.
- Discount Rules: Selecting this option displays the Discount Rules tab. Discount Rules must be defined before the saving the coupon.
- Discount Bundles: Selecting this option displays the Discount Bundles tab. You can create bundles or select predefined bundles here.

- Click on the secondary tab (which changes depending on which Type of Discounting you have chosen) to expand the options and select the discounting type desired.

Drag and drop a discount type into the box at the bottom of the page to add it to the Coupon.

- Click Save.
The coupon displays on the Coupons page in the list of available coupons.
