Pricing for Combination of Usage Attributes
Usage attribute-based pricing lets you select usage record attributes and set pricing for their value combinations. The mapping configuration under Mediation Setup maps raw usage to the Allegro usage container model, harmonizing data from different sources. This usage container forms the basis for usage-attribute pricing. See the 4. Pricing Models section for details.
For use-case example, le3 t us consider 3 attributes of from the usage record for pricing: QoS, Usage Class, Flex Attribute 1 with the following value combinations and rates.
| QoS | Usage Class | Flex Attribute 1 | Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| High | UC1 | ABC | Rate1 |
| Medium | UC1 | Rate2 | |
| High | UC2 | Rate3 | |
| <any> | <any> | <any> | Rate4 |
Expected Result:
Pricing is set based on the above combinations and the respective rates are applied as follows:
- Rate 1 is applied for 3 values in usage record as High, UC1 and ABC
- Rate 4 is applied for 3 values in usage record as High, UC5 and ABC
- Rate 2 is applied for 3 values in usage record as High, UC1 and XYZ
- Rate3 is applied for 3 values in usage record as High, UC2 and ABC
- Rate4 is applied for 3 values in usage record as Low, UC3, ABC
Variants:
- Pricing based on any number of usage attributes and their value combinations.
- Pricing based on the best match for usage attribute value combinations.
Setup:
- Set up the price plan, rate schedule, and rates in core Aria. Mark the plan for advanced pricing and select the “Add Allowance” flag for recurring service.
- Find the shell price offers created in Aria Allegro for the same plan or rate schedule.
- For the usage-type price offer, select Pricing Model as Usage attribute-based. This adds a section for usage attributes. Select and add three usage attributes—QoS, Usage Class, and Flexible Attribute 1—using the Add Field button.
- Add four such sections to match the table above and set the corresponding rates. If you want to use the same three attributes for each section, select the attributes for the first group/index only. The next three groups/indexes will automatically have the same attributes selected (users can add or remove attributes for each group/index). Add each additional section using the Add New Usage Attribute pricing button.
Each record consumes and updates the remaining allowance. Allowances offset the rate but cannot exceed the rated quantity or applied amount.
