Multiple Shared Allowances

Sharing is supported within a master plan instance hierarchy, where Aria Allegro creates a unique subscription unit and balance group. This applies across any number of add-on or supplemental plans under a master plan instance at any depth supported by core Aria.

This use case assumes two recurring services—one for the master plan and one for an add-on plan—each adding an allowance shared across usage types.

Expected Result

Two recurring charges each have one allowance shared across usage types in a subscription. Usage records rate to zero while allowances remain.

Variants

  • Multiple shared allowances across different recurring services
  • Multiple shared allowances across different activation services
  • Multiple shared allowances in a single recurring or activation service

Setup

  1. Configure two allowance resources in Aria Allegro, one for each recurring charge.
  2. Set up the price plan, rate schedule, and rates in core Aria. Mark the plan for advanced pricing and enable the Add Allowance flag for the recurring services.
  3. Locate the shell price offers created in Aria Allegro for the same plan or rate schedule.
    1. For the first recurring service price offer, select the Recurring pricing model, set proration, add the allowance impact for the corresponding allowance resource, and specify the standard allowance amount.
    2. Repeat for the second recurring service price offer.
    3. For each usage type that shares the allowances, configure the corresponding price offer. When adding rates, include both allowances in the desired consumption order.

Note: Each usage record consumes and updates the remaining allowance. Allowances offset the rate but cannot exceed the rated quantity or applied amount.
