Progressive Tier Usage Pricing

Progressive tiers resemble tax brackets: different tiers apply within a billing cycle, and multiple tiers can apply to a single usage record that spans more than one tier. Refer to the Pricing Models section for details on Progressive Tiers.

Expected Result

The system applies standard progressive tier pricing for a usage service during the billing cycle.

Setup

  1. Pre-configure accumulator resources in Aria Allegro for tier configurations. For independent tiers by usage type, set independent accumulators. For shared tiers, set a common accumulator for all usage types. Configure accumulators based on the overall quantity or amount of the usage record.
  2. Set up the plan, plan rate schedule, and plan services in core Aria.
  3. In Aria Allegro, set the price offer for tier pricing. Set Pricing Model to Tiered, Tier Reference to Balance, Accumulator to the balance reference accumulator, and Tier Type to Progressive (other attributes are disabled). Configure tiers, currency, accumulator, and allowance impacts for each tier. Ensure the accumulator used as the reference is also impacted to maintain the running total for subsequent usage records.
  4. The rest of the setup and processing remains unchanged.
