Progressive Tier Usage Pricing

Progressive tiers resemble tax brackets where different tiers apply within a month, and multiple tiers can apply for a single usage record spanning more than one tier. See the Pricing Models section for details on Progressive Tiers.

Expected Result:

  • Apply standard tier pricing for a usage service during the billing cycle.

Setup:

  1. Pre-configure accumulator resources in Aria Allegro for tier configurations. For independent tiers by usage type, set independent accumulators; otherwise, set a common accumulator for all usage types. Configure accumulators based on the overall quantity or amount of the usage record.
  2. Set up the plan, plan rate schedule, and plan services as required in core Aria.
  3. Set the price offer in Aria Allegro for tier pricing. Choose the pricing model as TIERED, and the tier reference as BALANCE in the tiered section. Select the Accumulator for balance reference, and set the tier type to PROGRESSIVE (other attributes are disabled). Configure the tiers, currency, accumulator, and allowance impacts for each tier. Ensure the accumulator used as reference is also impacted to maintain the running total for subsequent usage records.
  4. The rest of the setup and process remain the same.
