Use Statement Sequence for Credit Notes

Overview

You can specify the source of the sequence numbers from which credit notes numbers are derived via the Invoice Setting Use Statement Sequence for Credit Notes. By default, Aria generates a sequence id unique to the backend database of all credit notes on an Aria service.

Specify a Sequence Source

Getting here: Configuration > Billing > Invoice Settings. Enter 'statement sequence' in the search bar at the top right of the table. Select the Use Statement Sequence for Credit Notes parameter to edit the parameter. Select an option from the Value drop-down. The default value is False.

Statement Sequence Source Value Sequence Number Source
TRUE Future generated Credit Notes will have the same sequence numbers as Statements.
FALSE Statement sequence numbers for Credit Notes will not correspond to Statement numbers.

When the Use Statement Sequence for Credit Notes parameter is set to TRUE within the Aria Billing application, future generated Credit Notes will have the same sequence numbers as Statements. The sequence number applies when creating credits, voiding invoices, and refund actions. Setting this parameter to TRUE will also result in the Credit Note statement sequence honoring the following client parameters:

  • <statement_sequence_source>

  • <statement_sequence_start_value> (Starting Sequence Number)

  • <stmt_id_format> (Statement ID Display Format)

  • <secondary_stmt_id_format>

  • <acct_lvl_stmt_id_len> (Statement ID Padded Length)

Note: The client parameter being enhanced is <statement_sequence_source>.
