Additional details on available features
Worldline Added to Smart Payments for Credit Cards and Tokenized Credit Cards
With this release, Aria has now integrated the Worldline payment gateway as part of Smart Payments for the Credit Card and Tokenized Credit Card pay methods. This initial phase of integration supports the following actions:
- Authorization
- Capture
- Create Token
- Query Token
Transactions can be reversed using the Aria UI or by the reverse_authorize_electronic_payment_m with the authorization number of the authorized transaction. Tokens can be deleted either by the remove_acct_payment_method_m API or by deleting a tokenized payment method.
Soft Descriptor
This provides additional transaction details for your customers. This information appears on customer bank statements for credit/debit transactions. Soft descriptors can be entered at both the Payment Gateway and Collection Group levels (Collection Group takes precedence).
Navigate as follows to the soft descriptor field for Payments Gateways and Collection Groups (Configuration > Payments > [Payment Gateways/Collection Groups] > Field Options).
Soft descriptor support is currently implemented only for credit card transactions (pay methods 1 and 13) for the Visa and Mastercard card types. A maximum of 22 characters is allowed at the soft descriptor field; a field value beyond that limit will be truncated.
Cardholder-Initiated Transactions (CIT)/Merchant-Initiated Transactions (MIT)
When you use Worldline Smart Payments to process a Visa or Mastercard card transaction, you can now specify whether you are completing a cardholder- or merchant-initiated transaction and whether the card information is already stored in Aria.
Level 2/Level 3 Data
When applicable, Aria will send Level 2 and 3 data to Worldline for payment actions, resulting in savings on transaction fees. "Level 2" data refers to customer-specific affluence indicators, and "Level 3" data is specific to invoice line items. This applies only for credit card transactions (pay methods 1 and 13) for the Visa and Mastercard card types. A maximum of 99 invoice line items are supported and processed by Aria.
API proc_field_override
For Worldline, the following enhancement has been added; for the authorize_electronic_payment_m API, the “pa_3ds_termination_url” value in the
Fraud Scoring and BACS/SEPA Direct Debit and Tokenized Direct Debit Payments
Aria delivers additional functionality through its integration with the Worldline payment gateway in this release, including the following new features:
Fraud Scoring
Aria now provides fraud detection during payment authorization for credit card payments. Unlike other processors where Aria depends on the fraud score, Aria relies on the fraud message from Worldline, which can be one of the following:
- accepted – authorized
- denied - rejected
Note: For Fraud detection to work:
- Aria must ask Worldline to set up Microsoft Dynamic 365 Fraud Protection (DFP) for our merchant ID.
- Worldline can configure challenged payments to accept/deny by default.
BACS Direct Debit Payments
Also included in this release are BACS Direct Debit initial and recurring payments (pay method = 26), as well as transaction logging with masking of sensitive information (a BACS payment is a bank-to-bank transfer in the United Kingdom).
This introduces a new masking configuration to mask all characters of the bank-check-digit field in transaction logging.
BACS Direct Debit Refunds
BACS support also includes full and partial refunds for Direct Debit initial and recurring payments (pay method = 26), as well as integrated transaction logging.
SEPA Direct Debit Support
Worldline’s Smart Payments integration is also enhanced with SEPA create token and payment support (pay method = 37), including transaction logging (SEPA payments are cashless Euro transactions that can be made across the European Union and several non-E.U. countries).
Fraud Note
At present, from Aria, we only support accepting/rejecting cards for fraud. Challenged payments should be configured to either accept/reject categories by the client with Worldline.
update_payment_method_token_m API
With this release, Aria introduces the update_payment_method_token_m API for Worldine as part of Aria’s Smart Payments integration. Use this API to update all payment information along with token details, including customer first and last name as well as credit card expiration date. Additionally, the Tokenization: Store Full Credit Card client parameter must be set to True to enable this feature.
Additional Fraud Feature Support
With this release, Aria introduces additional fraud security as part of Worldline's Smart Payments integration. An end_user_device_fingerprint field is now included at the Payment Gateway and Collection Group levels (Configuration > Payments > Payment Gateways/Collection Groups > Advanced Options); this field, when used with the
Webhook Notifications Implemented
With this release of Smart Payments for the Worldline payment gateway, Aria now supports webhook notifications for the following event types to support changes in transaction status:
- payment.captured
- payment.paid
- payment.reversed
- payment.rejected
- payment.rejected_capture
Note: A webhook notification is a message that can be sent automatically between applications whenever a designated event occurs. These messages can serve as updates in real time and streamline payment processing for clients and their customers.
API-related enhancements for this feature appear below.
Webhook Notifications for Worldline Smart Payments (API)
In support of webhook notifications for Worldline Smart Payments, validations have been added to the following existing fields of the update_payment_method_token_m API:
- <cc_expire_mm>
- <cc_expire_yyyy>
The following error messages are now included for this API to support this feature:
Error Message | Description |
---|---|
33005 | When specifying a pay_method_no, then the fields cc_expiration_date, or demographics should be provided as an additional input for validation. |
4008 | Invalid expiration date. The date must be a future date. |
Token Removed When Removing BACS/SEPA Pay Method
When removing BACS/SEPA as a payment method for Tokenized Direct Debit payments (pay method 37), the token associated with that payment is also removed. This can be accomplished within Aria Billing Cloud by navigating as follows:
- Accounts > [search for an account] > Account Overview > Payment Methods (Delete Payment Method)
Token Removed When Removing BACS/SEPA (APIs)
When removing BACS/SEPA as a payment method for Tokenized Direct Debit payments (pay method 37), the token associated with that payment is also removed. This can be accomplished via the following APIs:
Apple Pay Payment Method Now Available With Worldline Smart Payments
Aria is excited to introduce Apple Pay as a digital payment method to our Worldline Smart Payments integration. Tokenized payments (initial payments and refunds) are supported for the Mastercard® card type.
To configure Apple Pay for Worldline Smart Payments, navigate to the Apple Pay tab (Configuration > Payments > Payment Gateways/Collection Groups [WorldPay]). Download the Certificate Signing Request (.csr) file (Step 1). After downloading the .csr file, perform the following (Step 2):
- Visit the Apple Pay portal.
- Log into your merchant account.
- Attach the CSR file.
- Get the .cer format file.
After obtaining the .cer file, upload the file from the Apple Pay tab (Step 3) to complete the pre-requisite steps for making Apple Pay payments.
You can now contact Aria with your Apple Pay payload using existing Aria APIs as part of your Worldline Smart Payments integration.
BACS, SEPA and Apple Pay Transaction Logging
Aria has added the following in support of the Worldline payment gateway as part of Smart Payments integration:
BACS Direct Debit Payments
Worldline now supports Tokenized Direct Debit initial and recurring BACS Direct Debit payments (pay method 37) for Create Token and Query Token actions. This also includes integrated transaction logging with masking of sensitive information.
SEPA Approve Mandate and Capture Payments
This release also includes support for SEPA Approve Mandate and Capture Payments (pay method 37). SEPA payments are enabled via the following process:
- Create Token (using the create_acct_complete_m API)
- Approve Mandate (using the record_mandate_approval_m API)
- Make a Payment (using the collect_from_account_m API)
Apple Pay Transaction Logging
Aria now supports transaction logging for Apple Pay transactions from Worldline Smart Payments. To do this, two new fields (dpan and verified_auth_value) have been introduced in the Logging Payment Request to display the Worldline Apple Pay transaction details. As with BACS transaction logging, the dpan value will ben masked as it contains sensitive information.
Worldline Fraud Check Added for Smart Payments
To support the “payment challenge/review” fraud check for the Worldline payment gateway, Aria has added two asynchronous webhook events as part of Worldline's Smart Payments integration:
- payment.pending_approval (sent for manual approval)
- payment.cancelled (sent for manual cancellation)
When payments are subject to fraud check, such payments marked by Worldline as either authorized (processed) or declined (cancelled) must be reflected within Aria Billing Cloud:
- When Aria receives the payment.pending_approval notification, then the payment authorization record is marked as “authorized“ and will be available during the next payment/capture event with the same amount as authorized.
- When Aria receives the payment.cancelled notification, then the payment authorization record is marked as “reversed”. This cannot be re-authorized and used in any subsequent payment.
